EmboGold Microspheres

Developed based on extensive discussions with physicians, EmboGold® Microspheres bring visibility to our proven microsphere technology. EmboGold Microspheres were launched in the U.S. in September, 2001.

Like our first product, Embosphere Microspheres, the design of EmboGold Microspheres is based on our platform microsphere technology. They are precisely calibrated, spherical, hydrophilic, micro-porous beads made of an acrylic co-polymer, which is then cross-linked with gelatin. They are colored to facilitate handling and procedural efficiency. We believe that they are unique because they eliminate aggregation in the catheter, unwanted proximal embolization and unpredictable distal embolization due to particle fragmentation that can occur with alternative embolization products.
