It's All in the Delivery™

Unlike particle PVA, Embosphere Microspheres are typically delivered more selectively into the fibroid vasculature than the previous generation of embolic material. To achieve this selective catheterization process, physicians use a smaller delivery catheter, known as a microcatheter. The smaller size of the catheter allows blood to flow around the catheter which allow Embosphere Microspheres to flow distally into the small arteries feeding the fibroid. BioSphere Medical has designed a delivery system specifically designed to infuse Embosphere Microspheres. The new EmboCath® Plus Microcatheter has specific design features that enhance the product's ability to deliver Embosphere Microspheres. In addition, BioSphere Medical has developed the Sequitor™ Steerable Guidewire to aid in the placement of the EmboCath Plus Microcatheter. The BioSphere Medical delivery system helps ensure the safe and clinically proven embolization efficacy which has contributed to the success of BioSphere Medical.
